Our Program:
The Woodford County Preschool provides half-day (3 hour) preschool classes four days a week with classrooms in all 4 of the Woodford County elementary schools. Preschool classes are held Monday-Thursday. Friday is utilized for screenings, teacher planning, home visits, parent teacher conferences, and staff training.
The preschool program is provided free to 3- and 4-year-old children who live in Woodford County and have been identified as having a developmental delay. The program is also provided free for children who will turn 4 years old by August 1 of the current school year and meet income guidelines. Transportation will be provided free to children who have delays or meet income guidelines.
Woodford County also offers a high-quality and well-rounded preschool experience fee-paying option for 4-year-olds who turn 4 before August 1 and do not meet eligibility for free preschool services. Fee-paying slots are limited in number and assigned on a first-come first-served basis after eligible children have been placed.
Preschool registration requires completing both the Preschool Pre-Registration Form and the Woodford County Schools Online Registration. Potential preschool students should also attend a screening. To start the enrollment process click here.

* Our staff will work with your schedule if you cannot attend regularly scheduled screening events.
Appointments are required and students must be at least 3 years old to be screened. Screenings take approximately 1 hour. You can click here to request an appointment or send the child's name, birthdate, and parent contact information to: preschool@woodford.kyschools.usor call 859-879-4699.
